Voluntariat.ro is a nationwide virtual resource center created for volunteers and volunteer coordinators across Romania. The platform aims to bridge the information gap in the civic space by offering free, accessible, and practical resources to support the work of NGOs and citizens.
Initiated by four nonprofit organizations under the umbrella of “Coaliția pentru voluntariat,” the platform simplifies how volunteers engage with their rights and responsibilities, and how coordinators manage programs and understand the legislative context.
Before Voluntariat.ro, Romania lacked a centralized, accessible digital hub for volunteering. Scattered, complex legislative information made onboarding and sustaining volunteer efforts difficult, especially for smaller organizations or first-time participants.

The primary target market for Voluntariat.ro is Romania, serving a nationwide audience of volunteers and volunteer coordinators.
Voluntariat.ro is part of the larger “Coaliția pentru Voluntariat” (The Volunteering Coalition), an initiative under the Active Citizens Fund (ACF) designed to increase civic participation among individuals.
The platform aligns with Romanian volunteering legislation and seeks to support ongoing advocacy efforts for improved legal frameworks. Its development was coordinated by Pro Vobis and supported by multiple NGOs dedicated to strengthening volunteerism through better information, rights awareness, and coordination practices.

Volunteers in Romania struggled to find clear, consistent information on how to get started, what legal responsibilities applied to them, or where to find legitimate opportunities. Coordinators similarly lacked tools and knowledge repositories to support volunteer management.
Most resources were dispersed across NGOs, public institutions, or outdated websites.
Voluntariat.ro was envisioned to solve these pain points by serving as a virtual knowledge hub: a centralized space that offers clarity, trust, and accessibility.

Linnify collaborated with the Voluntariat.ro team to design and deliver an inclusive, modern platform that simplifies access to essential civic and legal information.
The platform includes two dedicated user paths:

Linnify acted as an end-to-end partner, transforming fragmented insights into a unified, intuitive digital platform. The team conducted discovery interviews with NGO leaders to identify core user needs and define clear product goals.
The platform was designed in Figma and developed in Webflow, ensuring both usability and accessibility. Linnify structured clear user journeys and optimized technical documentation, feedback loops, and content management flows to support the platform’s long-term use by NGOs.

Linnify helped translate the vision of “Coaliția pentru voluntariat” into a scalable, reliable digital solution that empowers grassroots civic action across Romania. Voluntariat.ro is now a trusted platform that supports both experienced NGOs and first-time volunteers.
This project reinforced Linnify’s strength in building mission-driven platforms with strong user-centered design, deep stakeholder collaboration, and commitment to impact , especially in underserved civic sectors.
